Cookie Policy

About this Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Telekova (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at https://telekova.com. It describes what these technologies are, the categories we use, who places them, how long they last, and how you can give, change or withdraw your consent.

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. We provide a premium live TV and on-demand movies and series streaming service to customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland; our operator is based outside the UK and the EEA. Because we serve users in both regions, both UK GDPR and EU GDPR apply to how we handle personal data set or read through cookies, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the EU ePrivacy rules apply to the cookies themselves.

What are cookies and similar technologies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, phone or tablet) when you visit. It allows the site to recognise your device, remember your actions and preferences, and understand how the site is being used.

“Similar technologies” include items that work like cookies even when no traditional cookie file is used, such as:

  • Pixels and tags — tiny pieces of code that load when a page opens and can send information back to a provider.
  • Software development kits and tracking scripts — code that measures activity or supports advertising measurement.
  • Local storage — data saved by your browser to remember settings or state between visits.

In this policy, references to “cookies” include these similar technologies unless we say otherwise.

First-party and third-party cookies

First-party cookies are set by our website directly. Third-party cookies are set by other organisations whose technology we use on our site, such as our advertising and analytics providers. Third parties process the data they collect under their own privacy and cookie policies, which we do not control. See the section “Third-party processing” below.

Cookie categories

We group the technologies we use into four categories. Non-essential cookies — meaning analytics and advertising cookies — are switched OFF by default. They are only set AFTER you give your consent through our cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot work properly without them.

Strictly necessary

These cookies are essential for the website to function and to deliver the service you have asked for, such as keeping your session secure, balancing server load, and remembering your cookie consent choices. They do not require consent and cannot be switched off through our banner, because the site would not work correctly without them.

Functional / preference

These cookies remember choices you make to give you a more personalised experience, such as your preferred language or display settings. They are not essential, so they are only set where they are needed and, where they are not strictly necessary, only after you consent.

Analytics

These cookies help us understand how visitors use the site — for example which pages are viewed and how people move through the site — so we can improve it. They are off by default and are only set after you consent.

Advertising

These cookies and pixels are used to measure the performance of our advertising, to understand which visits lead to enquiries or purchases, and to help show relevant ads. They are off by default and only fire after you consent.

Technologies used on this site

The table below lists the main cookies and similar technologies our site uses. Cookie names, providers and durations can change as providers update their technologies; the table reflects our current use. Advertising and analytics technologies fire only after you give consent.

Name Provider Purpose Category Duration First or third-party
Essential site / session cookies (including the cookie that records your consent choice) Telekova (telekova.com) Keep the site working, maintain a secure session, support load balancing, and remember your cookie preferences Strictly necessary Session to up to 12 months First-party
_fbp, _fbc, fr Meta (Facebook) Advertising measurement and attribution via the Meta Pixel / Conversions API; help measure ad performance and show relevant ads (set only after consent) Advertising Up to about 90 days (around 3 months) Third-party
_gcl_au, _ga, and related Google tags Google Advertising conversion linking and website analytics; help measure ad performance and understand how the site is used (set only after consent) Advertising / Analytics Up to about 90 days (advertising) and up to about 2 years (analytics) Third-party

How to give, change or withdraw your consent

When you first visit our site, our cookie banner asks whether you accept non-essential cookies. No analytics or advertising cookies are set until you choose to accept them. You are free to accept all, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose which categories to allow.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time, and it is as easy to withdraw consent as it is to give it:

  • Use the “Cookie settings” control on our site to reopen your preferences and turn categories on or off. Withdrawing consent stops further non-essential cookies from being set; cookies already placed can be removed using your browser as described below.
  • Manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and refuse new ones. The exact steps differ by browser — check your browser’s help pages. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.

Third-party processing

Some technologies on our site are provided by third parties who process the data they collect under their own privacy and cookie policies, which we do not control. These include Meta Platforms (the Meta Pixel / Conversions API and WhatsApp messaging) and Google (advertising and analytics tags, where used). Other providers that support our website and service — including Donorbox (payment processing), Bunny (content delivery), Resend (transactional email) and our website hosting provider — may set strictly necessary or operational cookies needed to deliver their part of the service.

To manage interest-based advertising preferences across many advertising companies, you can also visit https://www.youronlinechoices.eu.

Your rights and how to complain

Information set or read through cookies may be personal data. You have rights over that data under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, which are explained in full in our Privacy Policy, including the right to object to and withdraw consent for non-essential cookies.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle data collected through cookies, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority:

  • United Kingdom: the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) — ico.org.uk.
  • Ireland and the EU: the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) — dataprotection.ie. You may also complain to the supervisory authority in your own EU/EEA country of residence.

We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns first, so please consider contacting us using the details below before approaching a regulator.

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in the law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date below and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again.
